At Hack Club, we believe in empowering young people to pursue their passions and develop their talents.

Job Description: Creative Events Engineer

As a Creative Events Engineer at Hack Club, you will play a crucial role in creating inclusive and engaging experiences for our community, with a particular focus on empowering girls in tech.

Your responsibilities will include:

Creating YouShipWeShip Projects: Develop creative projects that are accessible to everyone but specifically resonate with girls in our community. Collaborate with Hack Club engineers to brainstorm and execute these projects, ensuring they align with Hack Club's mission and values.

Leading on Content Creation: Take the lead on developing content and workshops for Day of Service (DoS) events and the annual summit. Train Hack Club girl DoS hosts to ensure they are prepared to facilitate engaging and inclusive experiences for participants.

Organizing Days of Service: You will lead a team of teenage girl coders to run their own hackathon, with 10 events to be planned in 2025. Each event has a dinner afterwards, with female professional engineers in attendance as mentors. Your role is to lead the Hack Clubbers to make these events amazing, and ensure the teenagers are trained to run technical workshops

Conducting Workshops: Transform your project ideas into workshops that can be integrated into hackathons and clubs. Mentor and hire Hack Club girls to lead these workshops, providing them with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and share their expertise with others.

Being a Role Model: Lead by example as a role model for girls in tech, by meeting with them in person and on Slack. Develop strategies to attract and retain technical talent, aiming to have 100 highly skilled girls actively involved in Hack Club.

Leading and Managing a Group: Structure internships or programs to provide girls with valuable learning experiences. Help them set goals, provide support, and empower them to take ownership of their projects while ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance.

Understanding Hack Club Culture: Embrace the Hack Club culture of giving teenagers agency and allowing them to learn through experimentation and failure. Prioritize hands-on learning experiences and provide tools and resources to help girls succeed on their own terms.
