Play a vital role in Hack Club’s nonprofit mission to create a “hacker generation”: these are millions of young people with technical skills, a positive, curious mindset, and a network of like-minded friends from all backgrounds.

Hack Club is a nonprofit education organization, founded by high-school dropout/coder Zach Latta and run by a team of young, highly-creative engineers, overseeing a global network of tens of thousands of teen coders in the US and around the world.

We are looking for a smart, creative marketer to grow our movement, from 20,000 teenagers worldwide to hundreds of thousands of teen hackers. Your goal is to deeply understand technical teenagers across the US and craft creative methods to reach them. You'll run operations and manage a budget to pay a handful of highly technical teenagers. 

Hack Club is engineer-led, and half of our staff is younger than 25.  We are well supported by philanthropists, including a number of West Coast-based engineer-founders. Our content features regularly atop Hacker News, and on GitHub Education’s blog + we've already been featured in Wall Street Journal, CBS News, and other newspapers. We have a presence on Twitter / YouTube / GitHub and have had content go viral.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deeply understand where technical teenagers congregate and conceptualize and execute on plans to reach them

  • Conceptualize and deploying a clever marketing campaigns to CS teachers and students in the US

  • Own new launches of our internal projects and work with the team to create clever comms

  • Envision and execute on clever partnerships and marketing ideas to execute on our goal of reaching every technical teenager on the planet

YOU’LL FIT THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE: 

  • Experience collecting and analyzing data to inform strategic marketing decisions

  • Led growth campaigns for organizations

  • Great project management skills, including time management, goal-setting, multitasking and prioritization

  • Exceptional writing skills and some graphic design experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Active in online communities and intuitively understands how to navigate digital spaces

  • A plus if you are highly technical and have experience building internal tooling


PAY, HOURS & BENEFITS 

  • SALARY: Competitive and negotiable

  • Full-time, flexible hours Monday through Friday  

  • In person preferred, but remote possible, with visits to Burlington, Vermont

  • Vermont Preferred Gold health insurance from BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont

  • 4 weeks PTO (includes 1 week during week of Christmas)

  • $2,000 hardware stipend (enough for a MacBook Air, nice large monitor, and external keyboard + mouse

Remote restrictions

  • Workday must overlap by at least 3 hours with Burlington, VT, USA
  • Must be a resident of United States
