Hack Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Events Producer to join our team and help us bring our flagship hackathons and other events to the next level. Examples of these events include Assemble, the first major high school hackathon since the pandemic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnK4gzO6S3Q), and The Hacker Zephyr, a cross-country hackathon on a train from Vermont to Los Angeles spanning 10 days and 3,500 miles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BID8_pGuqA).

As an Events Producer at Hack Club, you will be part of a production team with a history of delivering successful projects such as Crash Bandicoot, cover stories for TIME Magazine and New York Times, Destiny 2, apps with millions of users, and the most popular handmade hacker electronics company in the USA.

If you have experience producing high-quality, logistically complex events that create magical experiences for attendees and are excited about the opportunity to work with a team of talented teenagers to make a positive impact on their lives, we encourage you to apply for this role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the production of our flagship hackathons, working with a team of teenagers and Hack Club staff to ensure that the events are reliable, risks are identified, and quality control is reached.

  • Collaborate with partners such as SpaceX and GitHub to plan and execute events for teenagers throughout the year.

  • Use your expertise and creativity to elevate the production value and attendee experience of our events.

  • Make a deep and lasting impact on the lives of the talented teenagers who participate in Hack Club events.

  • Occasionally produce donor events, such as a Christmas party in San Francisco, to support Hack Club's mission and vision.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience producing high-quality, logistically complex events that create magical attendee experiences under short timelines and with limited resources.

  • A passion for working with and empowering teenagers to lead and execute events.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at once.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.

  • Experience working with engineers or a background spending time in online communities is a plus.

If you have a background producing highly complex and exciting events for major music artists, technology communities, high-profile clients, or other experience-oriented clients, we would love to see your application. This is not an easy job, but it is the most exciting role for the right person who is ready to make a deep and lasting impact on the lives of teenagers.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $50,000 - $70,000

  • Vermont Preferred Gold health insurance from BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont

  • 4 weeks of PTO (including 1 week during the week of Christmas)

  • 11 additional paid holidays

  • $2,000 hardware stipend (enough for a MacBook Air, big monitor, etc)

We will begin reviewing applications on January 10, 2023.
